What is programming?

Programming may look scary, but it is actually a very simple process.

If you tell a person, “Go find this,” they can figure it out. But computers cannot understand natural language like that. Of course, with the rise of AI, there are systems that can understand natural language, but let’s set that aside for now.

So programming is simply the process of communicating in a language the computer can understand. That is why people often call them computer “languages.”
